Hiking and canoeing since I was strong enough to hold a pack and paddle, Nature has been a lifelong teacher and companion. After experiencing the restorative power of a guided Forest Therapy walk, I became a certified Guide with The Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs, www.ANFT.earth, proudly graduating in the 2021 Flying Squirrel Cohort. Through my work as a Guide, I am ever-honored to work in partnership with Nature supporting others as they build their own connections with the ‘more than human world’ around them.
I live with my partner on the edge of a forest in rural Ontario, where I maintain an overgrown labyrinth-wildflower garden designed to create food and habitat for pollinators. I am privileged to be on the Board of Directors for Nature and Forest Therapy of Canada (NFTC) / Sylvothérapie et interventions par la nature du Canada (le SINC), https://natureforesttherapycanada.org/, serving and supporting the needs of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides throughout Canada as they build their own nature connective practices. In my spare time, I read, write poetry and relish my most important job: Nana. I have a 2yr MA in Counselling Psychology, a 4yr BA in Human Services and work in the field of mental health, and am a member of the Patient Advisory Committee of Migraine Canada.
